James Evans Remick II is a poet and playwright living in Cleveland Ohio. His poetry chapbook is Eating Yogurt with a Fork. He’s most recently been in HOOT Review and had a photo in Red Lemon Review. When he’s not writing or watching wrestling, he’s Guarding the galleries of The Cleveland Museum of Art. He is on all social media platforms too much @clevelandpoet.


Why we chose this piece: This piece is the expectation/reality meme in poetic form, and the randomness of it made us laugh out loud. There’s the idea of living up to other people’s expectations, living up to your own expectations, and since we’re in the mood to overanalyze, dealing with the complexities of masculinity. With a Big Mac. And Magic Johnson. Jimi is a goddamn delight.
